This card is a lot of fun.  It has an element of
whimsy in the play on words “gatefold”.  I started
with the idea of making a gatefold card, and
putting fencing on it – only seemed logical!

Using the Green Sneakers, Inc A7 Card
Kreator™ template, I marked and cut the card
from Arctic Snow Cool Metallic Paper. Using the
guide notches on the card template, I marked the
fold lines for the gatefold version.  (This template
can also create a bi-fold 4 7/8” x 6 7/8” card).  I
folded on my marks, and while holding the card
completely flat and closed – I stamped the
birdhouse on.  Most of the image is on the top
fold – but the small portion of blank space under
the top fold had to be “recreated” by hand.  It
wasn’t hard.  I had the stamp to look at, and
using watercolor markers, I followed the pattern
from the image on the top fold.

I chose these paints for their iridescent
appearance.  With the metallic paper, and the
luminescent paint – it creates a lovely effect.  I
just hand painted in the colors.  Remember to
paint the right and left side of the front.
Using “driftwood” looking paper, I cut the fence
with a sizzix die, and adhered it to the front of the
card.

For the inside of the card I stamped a frame and
embossed it with Red Dragon.  (A very glittery,
almost fiery mixture of powders)  I used a
coordinating red/orange ink, and stamped on the
inside phrase.

Using a burnt orange card stock, I made the
outer frame and sized it to fit.

With the same card stock, I made the matching
envelope from the A7 Kreate-a-lope™ template,
and stamped a flower on the front, and another
on the back flap.

This card reminds me of a summer in the country.
