| Craft Your Way Into Using Glitter and Flocking There are many ways to add embellishing to your stamping. We'll cover painting and chalking in another section. But let's talk about glitter and flocking here! If we are familiar with embossing, then these techniques are done the same way. There are glue embossing powders. It goes on the same way as embossing powder, but when it is heated, it turns to a liquid glue - for a short amount of time until it cools. During the time it's still a liquid, you can sprinkle on glitter or flocking, and make dimensional/textured stamping! Just sprinkle on while it's hot, and shake off the extra - careful to return the extra back to the jar! There are also, embossing powders with the glitter mixed in, or a combination of colors already in one jar. I have many empty jars (covered salt shakers) that I use to create my own embossing powders - clear or colored powder, and some glitter! One new product I'm enjoying is the distressed inks with the matching embossing powders. Here the embossed image isn't uniform, but looks aged. It adds character, and the color variation is quite nice. I keep my flocking in mason jars. It comes in many colors. When applied to projects it creates a 'fuzzy' texture to your image. So fun for teddy bears! |
