Paints
I love to paint - I'm just not very
good at it!  Certainly not freehand.
But even I can paint in an
embossed image.  I can paint
small detail highlights onto a
stamped image.  And I can swirl
watercolor paint on paper and
make a background!  That's all it
takes to use paints.  Remember,
were talking about water-based
paints.

Acrylic craft paints (the kind found
in those small 2 oz art bottles) are
fine to use, but on paper it is best
to mix them with a paper medium
as per the directions.  This will
make the paint more manageable
and smooth.

There are brands already made up
as paper paints.  Making
Memories has a lovely assortment
of colors, and these colors match
their brads and eyelets.  Plaid/Folk
Art makes a paper paint.  It is
really thick, so you can use it as
texture paint, or you can thin it
with flow medium, and use it as
paper paint.  They have sparkle
varieties - nice for a little
something extra!

I can't help but love Twinkling H2O
paints.  They are luminescent and
vibrant, and they add to my
artistic endeavors (which I already
admitted was limited!).  We'll be
posting quite a few projects made
with these - and you'll see what
I'm talking about.

We have to talk about paint
pencils.  There are watercolor and
chalk pencils that dissolve in
water.  So you use these as
colored pencils, but then you
come over that color with a clear
water on a paint brush, and blend
the colors.  This can create some
very nice artistic techniques!
