A Cohesive, Successful Plan

Posted in Uncategorized at 12:00 pm by PaperDesigns

This card is one of the new ones in the Gallery for the “I’m Blogging with a New Card Everyday” challenge to celebrate World Card Making Day, and the beginning of the card making season.

The blog challenge asks – what would I like to create to make Scrapping easier.  I like my friend Linda’s answer – a time machine.  I’m afraid I would use it for more than scrapping, though!

I need a solid, good, cohesive plan – in other words, I wish every time I sat down to make a card or a layout – that it just ‘came to me’ – that I could just see it and create it and have it done perfectly, the first time.  But it isn’t like that.  I went in the studio to make a card (well, I went to make a few cards, and only got one done) and it took me forever.  The background wasn’t right, then the stamp didn’t ink right, etc….  when all was said and done – I had one good version and the three not-so-good versions.

In a way, it’s like Linda’s time machine – I’d have more time, if I made more of the time I do have!!  I’m working on a sketch book – with any luck that should help some – but for me, I just can’t help trying out new techniques – and there’s always a ‘trial and error’ period attached.  I guess I need to accept that!

I swore I was going to write dates on the calendar to work on and try different things on different days. I haven’t gotten there yet, but I will! Good luck in getting more accomplished!

I have the whole morning to myself to try and start my Christmas cards and here I am reading blogs. I guess I don’t really need to time machine just to manage my time better.

WOW, I think we all struggle with that pest called perfection. :) Good luck with it.

I love the colors on that card! I’m taking a few days off of crafting but will continue my daily card trick on nov. 1. and I am going to use Maria Bell’s sketches to help me stay on schedule. Like, doing a different one every day, etc. that’s my plan, anyway. LOL (sorry, my fingers are hurting, arthritis) and i’m not using my caps lock all that well.)
